Logan

LOGAN WHITELAW

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Founding director and CEO, Logan Whitelaw has a particular interest in the development early childhood education throughout New Zealand. Together with Paul Rodgers, he formed Establish to address the problems he and his clients were experiencing – simplifying the development process for operators and raising the quality of centre design. Logan comes from a planning background, having worked in the resource management sector as a qualified planner for over ten years, including a leadership position at Auckland Council.

As CEO and head coach, Logan applies his strategic and tactical skills to the team and to ensuring client’s achieve their goals.

When he’s not working, Logan spends time with his family and is a motorsport enthusiast.

Paul

PAUL RODGERS

DIRECTOR

Paul founded Establish along with fellow director, Logan Whitelaw, having earlier worked with Logan in a planning consultancy. He has nine years’ experience as a planner and project manager, working across the country. Paul shares Logan’s desire to raise the quality of childcare across New Zealand and enjoys seeing client’s projects brought to fruition.

Paul has a developed an extensive network of contacts in the development, construction and childcare sectors.

When he’s not working Paul enjoys exercising, keeping up to speed with the property market and sampling Auckland's newest eateries.

Gareth

GARETH PASFIELD

PROJECT MANAGER

Gareth is an experienced project manager, having worked for more than 10 years in the fields of project management, resource management and town planning. In that time Gareth has worked for both public and private sector organisations in New Zealand as well as construction projects in the United Kingdom.

Gareth brings his experience and network of contacts to bear in managing and coordinating the delivery of projects for clients.

Outside of work Gareth is active with family, cricket, football and squash.

Gerard

GERARD MCCARTEN

OPERATIONS MANAGER 

Gerard is a highly experienced planning professional with over 16 years’ experience in the regulatory sectors in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom in senior positions. Prior to joining Establish Gerard held a senior position as a Principal Planner at Auckland Council overseeing resource consent appeals and providing specialist support for resource consent hearings and independent hearing commissioners. He is also a certified hearing commissioner with chairing endorsement.

A strategic thinker, Gerard oversees the day-to-day operational aspects of Establish to ensure it is delivering top quality and value for money for its clients.

When he’s not working, Gerard enjoys family time and trail running.

Gareth

GEMMA-ROSE BROOKE

PROJECT MANAGER

Gemma-Rose has over 10 years’ experience in the regulatory sectors in both New Zealand and New York. Prior to joining Establish, Gemma-Rose worked as a Planning Consultant preparing a wide range of resource consent applications including subdivision, retail, commercial, residential and industrial activities. During her time in New York, Gemma-Rose undertook feasibility and conceptual planning studies for New York City School Construction Authority, Cornell University, and United Nations' projects, as well as Project Management of New York City Transit projects. Gemma-Rose brings extensive knowledge of the resource consenting processes to Establish as well as an extensive network of industry contacts. 

When she's not working, Gemma-Rose enjoys spending time with family, friends, and the newest family member, Boston the Boxer.

Gareth

PAUL MOODIE

BUILDING CONSENTS MANAGER

Paul has over 20 years’ extensive experience in the building industry. He is a fully qualified Accredited Building Surveyor and a Licensed Building Practitioner. For eight years was the Northern Compliance and Inspections Manager at Auckland Council and recently he worked as an independent building inspector undertaking property inspections and providing expert advice on weathertightness issues.

Paul’s brings extensive knowledge of the building consenting and construction processes to Establish as well as an extensive network of industry contacts. 

Outside of work Paul is  family focused with a love for the great outdoors. His interests include diving, fishing, sailing, paddling the coastline on his surf ski and exploring the NZ countryside on his motorcycle.

Liana

LIANA COLEMAN

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Liana is an experienced office manager and administrator, including legal executive work. Liana brings her friendly voice and expertise in business systems and customer relations to Establish and oversees the smooth running of day-to-day functions.

Outside work Liana enjoys spending time with her son and family, and enjoys hiking and running.
